The Affective Voice Interaction (AVI) SDK is a new technology that enables game developers to
create two great families of affective vocal interaction with an in game character.
The AVI SDK has been designed to fit all virtual companions / Tamagotchi games with the main features of Intonation Detection and
Naming.
- Intonation Detection: the virtual companion understands if the player is speaking nicely or aggressively. An emotional relation between the player and his companion / avatar can be created.
- Naming: the player teaches his own words to the game, which will then recognize them and react accordingly (e.g.: sit, jump, go to bed, etc.). The player can give a name to his virtual companion and also teach him all kinds of tricks that he will do when told to.
This solution has been a key feature in the best selling game My Baby Boy & My Baby Girl by Nobilis / DancingDots.
The AVI SDK works on the signal of the player's voice and no localization is needed. Whatever you tell him, whatever your language, your virtual companion understands your
intonation and your words.
The AVI SDK is available on DS/DSi and Iphone and can be compiled on most Smartphone models or home platforms (including Nintendo Wii Speak or Sony PS
Eye).
